With a full quarter since India Inc. has learnt to Work from Home, amidst the chaos of meetings, calls, emails and squeezing in the time to do typical household chores, and look after (or get looked after) by the folks at home, with enough experience and diversity in working styles to classify into 6 major working styles :
- The Optics Manager : This person will ensure to send out an email at midnight cc ing pretty much everyone in the organisation or attend a meeting when ” certain” people are present. However, these guys are just too busy to answer the one on one emails or attend the phone call you just made.
- The Perennial Pleaser : Meeting at midnight, meeting at noon, meeting at dawn – This person is always there with his boss. He laughs at every joke made by his boss during team meetings, mentions him in all his conversations within and outside work, you think he has a thing going on for his boss.
- The Overenthu Caller : She calls and calls and calls some more to ask that till the person picks up for asking that one tiny thing – never mind the call recipient is disturbed from his/her “area of peace” (read : bathroom or bedroom) and came running to check what caught fire.
- The WhatsApp Stalker : Beware of them. They keep revisiting your WhatsApp status and when you are online, they call … on WhatsApp, followed by the telephone.
- Social Media Manager: They dominate your FB and Insta wall with posts & photos on life, life amid lockdown, fun activities during lockdown, life before lockdown, life @home, home, life away from home, random feeds and yes.. life in general.
- Homemakers (includes both men and women) : Their phone is always engaged and calendar is packed. Yet, despite their packed schedule of office and home work, they do squeeze in time to respond to that text / email sent hours earlier.
